“In 2010, an estimated 198 million roses were produced for the Valentine’s Day holiday, according to the Society of American Florists. Men purchase about 75 percent of the 110 million roses sold in the U.S. at this time every year.”
The estimated amount of roses produced for Valentine’s Day in 2014 was 257 million. I don’t usually celebrate Valentine’s Day with gifts, cards and flowers, though when a friend came to visit me in London a few years back, we had to check out Columbia Road flower market. Amazed by all the beautiful flowers we had big troubles leaving without any. They lasted for a long time and brightened up the whole apartment! If you’re ever in London I would highly recommend going to have a look.
Are you ready for Valentine’s Day?
